As a proud, native Nevadan, Dr. F. Victor Rueckl, M.D. (Vic) dedicated his life to serving the community. Dr. Rueckl was a gifted dermatologist and Mohs skin cancer surgeon who treated patients at his practice in Reno during the 1980s and 1990s, eventually opening Lakes Dermatology in Las Vegas in 2000. He put patient care at the forefront of everything he did. Dr. Rueckl served thousands of patients, both cosmetic and medical, over almost 40 years as a physician. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, caring touch, and his ability to make each person he treated feel like they were his most important patient.
Additionally, he helped others navigate the path to sobriety, including many fellow physicians. He proudly raised three daughters and happily called himself a Girl Dad. He served as a father figure to much of his beloved staff over the years. To those who knew him he was a brilliant, honest, imperfect man who strived to be kind to everyone. All those whose lives he touched will miss him deeply.
Lakes Dermatology and The Spa at Lakes Dermatology was managed and owned by Dr. Rueckl. Dr. Rueckl was board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He was also a fellow in the American Association of Cosmetic Dermatology. He had been licensed in Nevada since 1981 and has been providing exceptional care for patients in the Las Vegas area for over 20 years.
Dr. Rueckl obtained numerous certifications and attends trainings each year to stay abreast of changes and innovations in the cosmetic dermatology field. More recently, Dr. Rueckl had become a national trainer for various injectables and laser manufacturers and trains other physicians throughout the country in addition to his active practice as well as becoming an Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) Faculty Member.
